Téquila is an alcoholic drink produced from Agave, a plant native to Mexico. It is produced mainly in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, and is above all associated with this region. There are several types of tequila, which differ in their degree of purity and their production method. The white tequila or tequila plata is produced from fresh agave juice and is not aged. The golden tequila or tequila oro is produced from white tequila and is sometimes colored and flavored with ingredients such as caramel and spices. Téquila aged or tequila añeja is aged in oak barrels for at least a year and has a more complex and wooded taste.
