Strip the mint leaves from the stems. Then, rinse the resulting leaves under cold water to clean them. Then let them drain to remove excess water.
Put some tea in a teapot and pour a little boiling water over it to rinse it before discarding the water. Then add mint, sugar, and water to the teapot and let it steep.
Place the teapot on the stove and let it heat gently until the mixture reaches a gentle simmer.
Serve.
