Start by peeling and slicing the onions.
Then immerse the bacon in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain and rinse it.
Wash the potatoes and pre-cook them in boiling salted water for 10 to 15 minutes. Let them cool, peel them, and cut them into slices.
Melt butter in a frying pan and fry the onions. Add the bacon and continue cooking over low heat.
Cut the Munster into strips. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
In a shallow dish, alternate layers of potatoes, onions, and bacon, then cover with Munster cheese. Repeat until all the ingredients are used up, ending with the cheese.
Sprinkle with ground cumin and bake for about 35 minutes. Lightly brown before serving warm.
