Start by heating the oil in a saucepan. Sauté the spices. Stir in the can of tomatoes. Cook for 10 minutes.
Add the curry and sugar, season with salt and pepper, and stir. Cook for another 8 minutes.
Remove the bay leaf. Blend the mixture. Let it simmer for a few more minutes.
Jar it and store.
