Start by preheating the oven to 220°C.
Fry the chopped onions and leeks and the chopped garlic in the butter for 3 minutes.
Stir in the finely chopped apple and continue cooking for another 3 minutes. Let cool.
Combine the cheese and flour, then stir in the milk, egg yolk and leek mixture.
Season with spices and leave to cool for an hour.
Toast the bread slices in the oven, then spread them with the cheese mixture and bake for 10 minutes.
