Peel and cut the potatoes into thin slices.
Open the celery in 4 large quarters and cut it into fine slices.
Remove the germ of the garlic and chop it.
Mix garlic, cream, milk, nutmeg, pepper and salt.
In an oiled baking dish, alternate the layers of potatoes and celery-rave then add a layer of the milk/cream mixture.
Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake for minimum for 30 minutes.
Serve.
