Start by preheating the oven to 200°C.
Boil the cut potatoes in salted water.
Mash the potatoes with the butter, then add the milk and cream. Mix.
Add the cheese, bacon and chives and season with salt and pepper.
Pour the mixture into a buttered dish and sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
Bake for 40 minutes.
